Residents Encounter Christ (REC)
Missouri Prison ministry
Residents Encounter Christ began in Missouri prisons 42 years ago in the Wrens Women's Prison in Jefferson City. It was started by two Catholic Nuns that now go into 11 of the 22 prisons in Missouri and do 19 weekends each year. Mike and Kandies Miller (members of RRC) have been involved in the Residents Encounter Christ Ministry for the last 29 years. The ministry is a non-denominational outreach that is approved through the Missouri Department of Corrections under the initial sponsorship of the Jefferson City Archdiocese. The 3-day retreat consists of a theme for each day, designed to take the residents through a journey of dying to self (day 1), then rising a new creation in Christ (day 2), and finally, a missionary move (day 3). There are 11 talks/meditations given over the retreat; 9 of them by outside volunteers and 2 of them are given by inside residents. Between talks, residents participate in activities, such as making posters at each table for debrief, table prayer, foot washing, sharing testimonies, and a group meal.
How to get involved:
1. Please pray over the weekends, especially for the men and women we minister to.
2. If you believe you might be called to "GO" then contact Mike or Kandies for more information about serving.
3. If you feel led, consider a donation to the Residents Encounter Christ ministry.
David Peterka
When the saints
David, Easy, and Taji spend most of each year in Malawi, Africa and absolutely love it. David is from St. Louis and Essy is a Kenyan, but they met in Malawi in 2015 and got married in 2017. David founded an organization called When the Saints in 2011, which they currently still help to direct.
When the Saints built the first and only long-term trauma counseling safe home in Malawi for girls who have been sexually abused. Hundreds of girls have come into the year-long program. They desire to see a sustainable reduction in the cases of abuse and have a program to help men walk in sexual integrity.

Camp Hope - ROMANIA
For the past 3 years, Redemption Road partnered with International Access to Missions and helped build Camp Hope, a camp designed to house Ukrainian women and children refugees, as well as youth camps in the summer. The team also delivered care packages to Ukrainian refugee shelters, as well as shared testimonies and encouragements to local churches in Romania.
Redemption Road is planning to take a team in the fall of 2025. If you are interested in serving, you can fill out the Missions Interest Form.
